One Dashboard for Multiple GA4 Properties: Looker Studio vs Databox vs Plask
By Torstein Skulbru ·
GA4 cannot show more than one property at a time, so to see several properties on one dashboard you need an external tool. The three realistic choices are Looker Studio (free, one data source per property, you build everything), Databox (a general BI dashboard, priced per data source), and Plask (a GA4-only monitor with alerts and AI summaries, free for 2 properties and $9/mo for up to 10).
This guide is for the indie developer with six side projects or the small studio with a dozen client sites. It compares the three on setup time, price, alerting, and AI summaries, and is honest about where each stops scaling.
The problem: GA4 is single-property by design
Every GA4 screen is scoped to one property. The Home page, standard reports, Explorations, and the Insights cards all live under the property you selected. Checking eight properties means eight property switches, eight page loads, and eight sets of numbers you compare in your head. Roll-up properties, which aggregate several source properties, exist only in the paid Google Analytics 360 edition.
For someone managing between five and fifty properties, that turns the daily "is everything fine?" check into a fifteen-minute chore, which is why most people stop doing it and only find out about problems when a client emails.
Option 1: Looker Studio (free, build it yourself)
Looker Studio is Google's free reporting tool. Its GA4 connector links one data source to one property, so a 12-property dashboard needs 12 data sources. From there you have two layouts:
- One page per property, each with its own scorecards and time series. Simple to build with copy-paste, but it does not give you a single overview.
- A blended overview that puts several properties in one table. Blends are limited to five data sources, so above five properties you are stacking blends or exporting each property to BigQuery and querying that instead.
Expect a few hours for the first version of a 10-property dashboard and an afternoon every time you add a client. The bigger day-to-day issue is quota: the GA4 Data API caps tokens per property per hour and concurrent requests, and a busy multi-property dashboard is a well-known way to hit those limits. Google's own troubleshooting guidance is to consolidate data sources, use data extracts, or use the BigQuery export.
Looker Studio has no anomaly detection. Scheduled email delivery of a PDF is free; conditional chart alerts (email only, threshold-based) and Slack delivery require the paid Looker Studio Pro license.
Option 2: Databox (general BI dashboards, priced per source)
Databox is a business dashboard product with connectors for GA4, Google Ads, HubSpot, Stripe, and dozens more. Each GA4 property is one data source, and data sources are the main pricing dimension. As of September 2026 the pricing page (annual billing) shows a Free plan with 3 data sources and 1 dashboard, an Analyst plan at $71/mo with 5 sources, Team Core at $199/mo with 10 sources and 3 users, Team Scale at $319/mo with 30 sources, and an Agency plan starting at $79/mo plus $20/mo per client pack. Prices change; check databox.com for current numbers.
On the monitoring side Databox has Smart Alerts (anomaly detection with a 0 to 99 sensitivity setting) and manual threshold alerts, delivered by email, mobile push, or Slack, plus Scorecards, which are scheduled multi-metric summaries. According to its pricing table those notification features start on the Team plans, not on Free or Analyst. It also has an AI layer (Genie, AI performance summaries) metered by AI credits.
Databox is the right answer if you also need non-GA4 sources on the same board, or if you have more than ten properties. The trade-off is cost: alerts and Slack delivery for a 10-property portfolio start around $199/mo, and the setup, while self-serve, involves building each databoard from metric blocks. Option 3: Plask (GA4-only monitor with alerts and AI)
Plask does one narrow thing: it watches GA4 properties and tells you when something changes. There is no dashboard builder. You sign in with Google, tick the properties to monitor, and get a fixed portfolio view with a card per property showing active users, sessions, screen views, revenue, and period-over-period deltas, plus a sparkline and the traffic channel breakdown.
- Setup is under five minutes for ten properties because there is nothing to design. Plask backfills history on connect.
- Alerts are statistical (modified Z-score on a 28-day baseline) with three sensitivity levels per property, in-app on Free and email, Slack, and Discord on Pro. Warning and critical alerts include an AI root cause that names the channel, device, or country that moved. See how alerts work.
- AI weekly digest every Monday covering the whole portfolio: which properties grew, which need attention, and a recap of the week's anomalies. See the digest feature.
- Price is $0 for 2 properties and $9/mo or $79/yr for up to 10, with 90-day retention, CSV export, conversion tracking, and public dashboards on Pro.

How to pick
Under 10 properties, and you mostly want to know when something breaks: Plask. The daily portfolio view plus alerts and the Monday digest replaces the manual round of property switches, and at $9/mo it is cheaper than the coffee you drink while doing it.
10 to 50 properties, or GA4 is one of several sources: Databox, budgeted at the Team or Agency tier if you want alerts and Slack. Expect to spend time on databoard design.
You need a specific report layout, PDF delivery to clients, or unlimited scale: Looker Studio, ideally on top of the BigQuery export once you pass a handful of properties. Budget for the build and for quota troubleshooting.
If you are unsure, start with Plask's free tier on two properties and Looker Studio for the rest; you will know within a week whether alerts or custom reports are the thing you actually miss. Pricing details are on the pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
- Can GA4 itself show multiple properties on one screen?
- No. GA4 has an account-level property picker, but every report, the Home page, and Insights are scoped to a single property. There is no built-in cross-property dashboard. Roll-up properties exist only in Google Analytics 360, the paid enterprise edition.
- How many GA4 properties can Plask monitor?
- The Free plan monitors 2 properties and the Pro plan ($9/mo or $79/yr) monitors up to 10. Multiple data streams under the same GA4 property (for example a web stream and an iOS stream) count as one property. If you need more than 10, email support@plask.dev.
- Why does my Looker Studio GA4 dashboard show quota errors?
- Looker Studio's GA4 connector uses the GA4 Data API, which has per-property and per-project token quotas. A dashboard with many charts, many viewers, or many properties can exhaust the hourly or concurrent-request quota and show errors such as 'Exhausted concurrent requests quota'. Google's suggested fixes are to consolidate data sources, use extracted data, or move to the BigQuery export.
- Is Databox or Plask better for an agency with 30 client properties?
- For 30 properties Databox is the more direct fit today: its Team Scale plan includes 30 data sources and its Agency plan sells client packs. Plask Pro caps at 10 properties, so it suits indie developers and small studios rather than large agencies. Plask's advantage at its size is price and built-in statistical alerts with AI root cause.
